PRESS RELEASE – MOSQUE ATTACK IN CHRISTCHURCH NEW ZEALAND

Sailan Muslim Foundation of Canada mourns the martyrdom of 49 Muslims in two Mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, on Friday who were victims of a brutal and senseless murder by a person claiming to be a white supremacist and a Muslim hater. We pray for the souls of the victims and the healing of the hearts and minds of the survivors and stand in solidarity with the Muslims of the Christchurch community in New Zealand. At the same time we deplore the words and acts of bigotry and violence by anyone whose aims are to divide and separate people along ethno-nationalist or religious lines and attack and incite hatred to fellow humans whatever their faiths, race or beliefs maybe. At this time of grief and sadness we can only call for fellow Muslims not to fear as our deeds, lives and death are all for Allah and to stay vigilant and exercise justice with compassion and show that the beauty of Islam lies in persevering with patience and constancy.
